This page lists our 2006 Archive of gigs - the band's most successful year - so far! These are the reports that were written at the time, and have been left as written for historical accuracy - and because they link directly through to the appropriate sets of photos! Momentum has been built up all year, and the band has become well-known on the club circuit. They have also upgraded and improved their equipment (for example, going totally wireless - even the guitars), as well as adding to and extending the range of songs performed. More than ever, Beyond Words provide a totally entertaining package, packed with hits, favourites, fun, all delivered with total dedication and professionalism! We made our second performance for Oakham FC's Christmas and New Year celebration on December 30th - our last gig of 2006. It was a great way to round off the year, and we received a warm welcome as we did last year. You can check out the selection of photos that Gill took here, and we'll see you again at the end of this year! We were making our first visit to Chase Social Workers Club on Boxing Day in association with Diamond Entertainments, in a lovely cosy venue, which was packed out! Once again, the crowds were fantastic, demanding more towards the end of the evening (even though we were actually out of songs to perform!) and kept the dance floor packed for most of the evening, yet again! We have some photos to help you all remember us and hopefully we'll return in 2007! We had yet another fantastic evening on our first visit to the Grangemoore Working Mens Club on 23rd December, and received an excellent welcome: the crowd joined in with everything, and kept the dance floor filled for virtually the whole evening! As ever, Gill was snapping away, and the results are here! Have a great New Year, and hopefully we'll see you in 2007! We had a great evening at a Cradley Labour Club Christmas Party on 19th December. We were given a brilliant reception by the crowds, who were happy to get up and dance to their favourite songs. As usual, Gill was snapping away, although the Wilson Hall is a very large room, so the automatic flash struggled a little! You can see the results here. We'll look forward to seeing you all next year: have a wonderful Christmas! We returned to Cannock Social Working Mens Club on Saturday 16th December, in association with Diamond Entertainments, to a rousing reception! Many thanks to you all for the wonderful comments and the enthusiastic dancers, and we had a fantastic time entertaining you again. We look forward to seeing you all again in 2007, and in the meantime, the camera batteries were fully charged this time: you can see the photos Gill took here! Many thanks to everyone at the Queensway public house in Stourbridge on Saturday 9th December - we had a fantastic time in what was our first public house gig for a number of years. The crowds were really enthusiastic during the whole of our three spots, and a special mention should be made for Betty who was dancing away for most of the evening, celebrating her birthday! Thanks also to Chris for the welcome, and we'll hope to see you all again in 2007. For now, here are some photos, taken as always by Gill! Thanks to everyone at Dudley Ex Servicemens Club for the brilliant reception we received during our umpteenth visit on Saturday 2nd December! We're losing count of the number of gigs we've played for you! The dancers were excellent as always, and the 70s "glam rock" section seemed to go down really well! The photos taken by Gill are here, and we'll look forward to seeing you again in 2007! We had a brilliant time at Rowley & Blackheath Labour Club on Saturday 25th November at your annual Awards Evening! We were given a tremendous welcome for our first gig with you, and people filled the dance floor for most of the evening - especially with the disco classics in the second half. The photos which were taken are here, and we'll see you again in 2007! What a fantastic welcome we received at Heath Hayes Constitutional Club on Saturday 30th September! We were blown away by your warm enthusiasm - and your dancing! The floor was hardly empty all night, so well done to you all. We'll look forward to seeing you again in 2007, and as always, Gill was there, camera in hand, to record some highlights from the show, which you can see here - the next time we play for you, we'll make sure the Talk Box effect works! ;-) We have played quite a few Showcases/Shop Windows over the years. Our most recent one was at Cradley Labour Club in their Wilson Hall, on Sunday 10th September. You can read about it in the Beyond Words Blog but for the first time ever (well - for us at least!) here are some photos taken during our slot! Many thanks to our new friends at Stechford Social Working Mens Club on Saturday 19th August - thanks for the fantastic welcome you gave us, and to the many people who danced so enthusiastically. We enjoyed ourselves playing for you, and we are looking forward to seeing you again in 2007 - we'll have some new songs for you, as well as all of your favourites! In the meantime, here are a few photos to remind you of a great evening, taken as always by Gill: enjoy! Thanks once again for the fantastic reception we received at Brierley Hill Labour Club on Saturday 5th August - we all had a great time, despite some initial teething problems with the sound, largely because we were using our new wireless guitar systems for the first time, but those problems soon gave way to plenty of dancing in the second half. We shall have to see if we can get "Hotel California" sorted out for our first return visit in 2007! Many thanks to all of you, and especially Malcolm and Irene, for your continued support: it is always appreciated! There were lots of photos taken, including our first batch here, taken by Gill with the "official" Beyond Words camera! We received a stunning welcome at our first Saturday gig for Dudley Ex Servicemens Club on Saturday 29th July - and many thanks to the dancers who kept the place moving for the majority of the evening. Our apologies for not having any photos - someone who shall be nameless (OK - it was Bimal!) forgot to bring the "official" Beyond Words camera... We won't make that mistake again when we see you all again next year at the end of June! We got a brilliant reception from everyone at The Royal British Legion Club in Rowley Regis on Saturday 10th June - the songs we performed seemed to go down a treat, and even though there weren't a lot of dancers, the audience clearly appreciated the choice of songs. We have a lot of photographs to remind you of the fun evening we all had, and the fact that we were all really greatful for the club's air conditioning - the photos are on the Photos page, and we'll look forward to seeing you all for a return visit soon! Many thanks for the fantastic reception we received at Cannock Social Working Mens Club on Saturday 6th May - lots of dancing and singing along, as well as the first public outing of our new banner, and Bimal trying to do his Richie Sambora impersonation! We look forward to seeing you all again in December, and until then, check out the pictures we took - before the batteries ran out! Next time, we'll make sure they don't run out! ;-) We received another warm welcome at Dudley Ex Servicemens Club on Sunday 12th February, with lots of very positive comments! We have some pictures of our pre-Valentine's Day gig here - the room was done out wonderfully! We received a fantastic welcome on our third visit to Brierley Hill Labour Club on Saturday 4th February - we weren't allowed to end our sets until everyone had had a dance to "Amarillo" despite already having played 4 encores! We also appreciated the wonderful comments we received from various individuals there. If you want to see what it was like, there will be several video clips appearing on the website in a week or two (once they have been processed for the net), but until then, here are a few still photos of some magic moments! Many thanks for the excellent reception we received at The Royal British Legion Club in Oldbury on 28th January - we shall look forward to a return visit later in the year. For now, there are a few photos to remind you here! Thanks to the fantastic welcomes we received in our final two (private) gigs of 2005! There is a selection of photos from the Oakham FC gig here and the Sedgley Ex Servicemens Club gig here - enjoy, and see if you can spot yourself! |
