This page lists comments about all of the gigs that we played during 2009 - as you will appreciate, the comments may seem strange when viewed with hindsight. Many thanks to everyone who supported us during this most busy of years for us. 2009 broke all of our previous records, and we played more gigs than in any previous year. It also saw us being essentially fully-booked for 2010 even before 2010 has begun, which is another record! We have even received bookings for 2011, and that really is amazing, even by our standards. Now the challenge is to maintain this momentum in successive years. As we said at this time last year, we'd have to see if 2009 lived up to its promise, and we can now say that it most definitely has done just that - so here's to 2010! As usual, there are links to the appropriate photos page.

We rounded off our most successful year ever on Boxing Day 26th December, playing our second gig of the year for our friends at Ball Green Working Men's Club in Stoke-on-Trent. As always, we received an enthusiastic welcome, and our songs were well received, with a fair amount of dancing taking place, right from the first set. We'll see you again in 2010, and wish you all a Happy New Year! Here are Gill's photos!

We received yet another fantastic reception at the Hill & Cakemore ExServicemen's Club on Saturday 19th December - people were having a brilliant time, and wanted more all the time! Despite the flurries of snow, the enthusiasm never stopped, and we were delighted to give the crowds a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Gill's photos have arrived, and we'll see you all again next year! Merry Christmas!

We received an awesome reception at Cradley Labour Club on Saturday 12th December, where we were playing again in the bar - everyone seemed to enjoy our songs and performances, and people even got up and danced in the second set! Thanks for coming out to support us on a very cold night, and we'll look forward to seeing you all again next year! Have a great Christmas and in the meantime, check out Gill's pics!

We made our second visit of the year to Kinver Constitutional Club on Saturday 21st November under slightly different circumstances: Kay had been in hospital to have two wisdom teeth out a week before, and we weren't sure how she was going to cope with the singing. John prepared alternate sets to give her more of a rest between songs. As it turned out, she sang fantastically well, helped no doubt by the wonderful reception we received from the crowds in the club - many thanks to you all for a great reception, and we'll be seeing you again in August 2010! As always, Gill's photography gives a flavour of what happened!

We returned to Charlemont Bowling Club on Saturday 7th November for our second gig of 2009; Taff gave us a great welcome as always, and we had modified our sets - despite some gremlins with the PA speakers at the start of the show (which sorted themselves out as time went on!) everyone seemed to have a great time, and we were delighted with the enthusiastic reception we received! Gill's photos have arrived, and we'll look forward to seeing you all again in 2010!

We played our return gig to one of our regular haunts, at Brierley Hill Labour Club, on Saturday 31st October - Halloween Night - so we decided to do one or two things in a slightly more scary way! Gill's photos have appeared - and we'll see you all again in March 2010!

We received a great reception from everyone at Netherton Liberal Club when we played our debut there on Saturday 26th September - and several encores and requests for more even after we'd finished! John was also debuting his new guitar effect pedal, which added to the excitement of the show, as Gill's photos show. All being well, we'll see you all again in 2010!

We received a fantastic reception from Jock and the punters at Dudley ExServicemen's Club on Saturday 19th September - as indeed we always do! This club has supported us right from the beginning, and continues to do so brilliantly! Despite some very frustrating problems with John's guitar (which have been narrowed down to a dodgy guitar effect pedal), the show still went on, and the dance floor was kept busy! many thanks to you all for your wonderful support, and many thanks to Jock for the 2011 bookings! Gill's photos are here!

Gill was reunited with the digital SLR, and has captured several magic moments from the gig: the pictures are here!

We played yet another debut gig on Sunday 6th September when we played for the first time at Cradley Heath Labour Club, where they had been let down by the artist originally booked. Although the punters were a bit light on the ground, those that were in certainly enjoyed themselves, and we had them up and dancing in the second half, with encores being demanded as usual. The photos are here, as our webmaster pulled his finger out (fancy having been on holiday!)...

Yet another debut gig was on Saturday 15th August when we played at Church Hill Victoria Working Mens Club in association with Diamond Entertainments. It took a little while for the punters to get to grips with the kind of band we are, but by the end of the first set, they were completely won over! The second half was extremely well received, and we even managed to get people up and dancing! By the end of the night, they were yelling for more, which we happily provided, and we'll look forward to seeing you all again next year! Gill's photos have appeared, just to give you a feel for the gig...

Our second gig of the year took us to Catshill Social Club for our gigging debut for them on Saturday 17th January. Despite torrential downpouring rain for most of the evening, the club was pretty full, and we think that the punters enjoyed what we were playing: they equalled our record of 5 encores! Many thanks to all of you for your great enthusiasm, and the dance floor was kept packed for virtually the whole evening! As always, Gill's photos capture the evening really well, and we'll see you all again in September!

Our first gig of 2009 took us back to our friends at Rowley & Blackheath Labour Club on Saturday 3rd January - they had been left with a problem, so we were able to solve it for them! We performed in the snugg, and our Bose system (which we usually us for onstage monitoring) took over the PA duties and performed superbly well. Everyone there enjoyed themselves, and we were able to throw in some different material from what we played in December 2008. You can see what it all looked like thanks to Gill's photos!
