This page lists confirmed bookings that the band currently has for 2014. There will be brief comments about the gigs that have taken place at the bottom of this page, together with links to the appropriate sets of photos (where available). The most recent gigs appear nearest the top, going back through the year as you scroll down! Thanks to everyone who supports us at the gigs - it couldn't be the same without you!
All public gigs are provided with links through the excellent Bing Maps website, to allow the location of the gig to be found. Remember that Bing Maps will also give you directions from wherever you are, should you need them! If you are driving to a gig and would like to know what the road and traffic conditions are like, make sure you check out the excellent Frixio website which will give you all of the information you need! We list private functions for information purposes, although they aren't generally open to the public!
Please note that Beyond Words are a part-time band who approach their gigs with full-time professionalism and commitment: most of us have full-time jobs in addition to playing in the group. The Beyond Words Blog is undergoing a makeover, so all that is currently there is the archive of old postings - we'll let you know when the new blog goes live!

We played our 2014 gig at Harrisons Sports & Social Club on Saturday 2nd August, and received a wonderful reception - in fact, we played for an extra 30 minutes at the end due to the requests for encores! Many thanks to you all for the wonderful welcome and for your support over the years!

We played our 2014 gig at Parkes Hall Social Club on Sunday 27th July, which is also our final gig for this club. We received a fabulous welcome as we always do, and the dance floor was packed for the second half especially. Many thanks to Karen, Paul and everyone at the club for the wonderful support we have always received at your excellent club - and our paths will cross again!

We returned to Pittshill Victory Working Men's Club in association with Elcock Entertainments Limited on Saturday 19th July and as always received an excellent welcome - the choice of songs seemed to go down well and the encores were very well received! Many thanks once again for your support!

We returned to Darlaston Sports & Social Club on Sunday 13th July for our second - and final - gig for Charlie and the punters. As always, we were made very welcome and everyone seemed to enjoy the songs we performed, and there was a fair amount of dancing, despite the hot weather! Many thanks to you all for the wonderful welcome and to Charlie for your awesome support!

We played our 2014 gig for Quarry Bank Labour Club on Saturday 12th July, and received a brilliant welcome as always - it was too hot to do much dancing, but it was clear that everyone was having a great time and we appreciate the support you've given us over the years! It has always been very much appreciated, thank you all.

We were delighted to be asked to play for the West Midlands District Association Central Counties Regional Meet at Hyde Farm, Pinvin, on Friday 4th July. We received a fabulous welcome are were delighted to have everyone dancing for the entire second set - and many thanks for the encore requests as well! We enjoyed ourselves as much as you all did!

We played our first gig at Cheslyn Hay Community & Sports Club on Saturday 28th June along with Annuska Elliott who covered songs especially from the 40s, since it was Forces Day - excellent job too! Many thanks for the brilliant welcome from the club, and many thanks for your support! We'll see you again in December!

We were delighted to be asked to play for Emma on her special birthday on Saturday 21st June at Rowley & Blackheath Labour Club - Emma and her family have been loyal supporters of the band for years and years (many thanks - it has always been much appreciated!), and not surprisingly, the gig went down really well with Emma, her family and friends! Many happy returns once again, and thank you for asking us to share your special day!

We played our second gig of 2014 at Stockingford Sports & Social Club on Saturday 14th June and once again got a great reaction to the material, although I think most people were thinking about how England would get on against Italy in the World Cup match that started straight after our final number. I think the less said about that, the better! Thanks again for the great welcome and we'll see you again in October!

We played our 2014 gig at Netherton Sports & Social Club on Saturday 7th June and were once again greeted by an enthusiastic crowd of punters, many of whom stayed until the very end! They were still yelling for more even after we'd played several encores! Many thanks to you all for the wonderful support you have given us over the years - it has been very much appreciated!

We returned to Cradley Heath Liberal Club on Sunday 25th May, and were greeted by a packed venue once again. The material went down really well, as always, and the dance floor saw plenty of action. The encores went down great as well, and despite Bimal being quieter than usual (yes, really - he had almost lost his voice!), everyone had a brilliant time! Many thanks to you all for the wonderful reception and we'll see you in November!

We returned to Auston Sports & Social Club on Saturday 24th May for the second of our three gigs again for 2014, and we shared the stage with comedienne Jo Little from Yorkshire. Although there weren't as many in as was hoped, everyone there had a great time and in the second set, the dance floor was busy for most of the set, finished off by yells for "More!" - many thanks to you all for the brilliant response and we'll see you again in December!

We returned to Redstone Social Club on Saturday 17th May for the second of our 2014 trio of gigs and were once again blown away by the fabulous reception we received. The dance floor saw plenty of action and the punters wanted more even after the encores! Many thanks to you all for the fabulous welcome and we'll look forward to seeing you all again in September!

We were also honoured to be asked to take part in a special charity event on Friday 16th May at the Goodyear Pavilion Club in Wolverhampton in memory of the late Mr John F Checketts who was Debby Alexander's father, in aid of the Air Ambulance. We were one of seven superb acts who took part and the audience had a wonderful evening - the event raised over £1100, which was wonderful, and it is planned to be an annual event!

We were honoured to help Julie celebrate her special birthday on Saturday 10th May at Cannock Social Working Men's Club, where the packed club enjoyed the material we performed and kept the dance floor busy all night. Many thanks to you all for your enthusiasm and support and our very best wishes to Julie for allowing us to share her special day.

We made our first visit of the year to Weston Coyney Private Social Club on Saturday 26th April and were once again greeted by the wonderfully enthusiastic audience, who seemed to enjoy the whole range of music we played - as always! Many thanks to you all for the brilliant welcome, and for your continued support over the years! We'll see you again in December.

We returned to another one of our regular haunts, Ashwood Social Club, on Saturday 19th April, where we were greeted by the friendly punters, along with Brian and Pat. As always, we received a brilliant welcome form one and all, and the dance floor was busy from the third song onwards! The three sets were all very well received, and the praise heeped on to the band was most kind and generous! Thanks to you all for the continued support over the years - it has been very greatly appreciated!

We returned to another of our regular haunts, Rugeley Progressive Working Men's Club, on Saturday 12th April for the first of our two 2014 gigs, where we shared the stage with Natasha Marie which provided the crowd with a very wide range of music. Many thanks to you all for the wonderful reception and the very kind compliments paid to the band - it is always very much appreciated, and we look forward to seeing you in September!

We returned to Cannock Social Working Mens Club on Saturday 29th March for the first of a trio of gigs over the year; we have played here for a great many years and have always received a wonderful welcome. This time was no different - although the reception was possibly the best we've had since we played here for New Year's Eve in 2007! Everyone had a brilliant time - including us - and the newly-refurbished dance floor was busy from the second song onwards! Many thanks to you all for a brilliant evening and we'll be seeing you again very soon!

We returned to Blackheath Liberal Club for the first of our two 2014 gigs on Saturday 22nd March, and were greeted by a warm and friendly audience. Most people seemed happy to sit and listen to the music tonight, but it was clear that people were enjoying themselves, and the comments we received at the end were very kind and generous. Many thanks to you all and we'll see you again in August.

We received a fantastic welcome from the Land Rover Camping and Caravan Club on Saturday 15th March, when we played at Cookhill Village Hall. Everyone seemed to enjoy the choice of music and the dance floor was busy for virtually the whole night! Many thanks to you all for a fabulous evening and a wonderful reception!

We played another debut gig on Saturday 8th March at Hasbury Conservative Club, where we were just blown away by the amazing welcome we received. The dance floor was packed for virtually the whole night, the requests for encores were many and even after that people still wanted more! Many thanks to you all for a fabulous reception - we really appreciate it so much! :-)

We received a wonderful welcome from everyone at James Bridge Copper Social Club on Saturday 22nd February when we played our debut gig there! The material seemed to go down really well and many thanks for the brilliant comments we received. Thank you all for a very enjoyable night!

We played our first gig of 2014 for Stockingford Sports & Social Club on Saturday 15th February and were well impressed by the alterations! We were also delighted by the enthusiastic reception once again, and were able to deliver the songs that people wanted to hear! Thank you all for a fabulous reception once again, and we'll be back in June for more of what you love! :-)

We returned to Rushall Labour Club after an absence of a couple of years on Sunday 9th February and were once again greeted by an enthusiastic crowd who clearly enjoyed the music we were playing. The new songs seemed to go down very well, and there were the requests for more at the end which we happily did. Many thanks for the wonderful welcome and thanks for your support over the years!

We played our debut gig at Fife Street Working Men's Club on Saturday 25th January and were greeted by a fairly packed concert room. The material was gradually taken to, especially in the second spot where we let rip with some of the rockier material which seemed to be just what the doctor ordered. The dance floor saw some action and the punters clearly enjoyed themselves! Many thanks for the excellent welcome and we'll see you all again in August!

We played our first 2014 gig for Pelsall Social Club on Saturday 18th January and were once again greeted by a friendly enthusiastic audience, which we have experienced many times over the past years. The material was again wonderfully well received, with plenty of yells for more, which we happily provided. Many thanks to you all for the great reception and we'll see you all again in September!

We opened our 2014 gigging year by returning to Dalaston Sports & Social Club on Saturday 4th January, where Charlie and the punters gave us a brilliant welcome, a fitting start to the year! The material went down really well, and the yells for more showed that everyone had had a great time, as had we. We'll look forward to seeing you all again in July for more of the same, plus some new material!
